Opteka Battery Pack Grip / Vertical Shutter Release for Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi & Rebel XT with 2 NB-2LH Batteries (3600 mAh Total)

Opteka is proud to be allowed to use the same factory and mold as Canon uses for their BG-E3. Opteka is one of the world's leading producer of high-performance batteries and accessories. Opteka believes there is no limit to the potential of portable power and as a company they will always strive to find innovative and efficient ways to power your life in the future!

The Opteka BG-RXT holds 6 AA Batteries or 2 NB-2LH batteries. This provides a extremely extended shooting time. The vertical shutter release also makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally.

Customer Review: Tad bit disappointed. Expected more from such great reviews.
I've read so many reviews on how great this item is and for the cost. Personally, I didn't buy this item for the batteries. I bought it for the grip. Pros: Built close to Canon grip. Nice to have slip resistant grip. Extra batteries area always nice to have. Cons: Controls (wheel+buttons) feel like their going to break if I use them. Buttons work, intermittently. One doesn't even work at all. Price. If all you want is to beef up your camera body, you can buy a similar item for half the cost of the Opteka. I've never owned a true Canon grip so I am basing my review off the camera body controls. Honesly, I wouldn't buy this again. Yeah, I've fattened my body but the controls are nearly worthless. I don't use them anyways so I can't complain too much. But hey, at least I won't run out of batteries =)
Customer Review: Excellent for the price
For about half the price of the Canon-branded grip, and with two batteries, the price on this seemed too good to be true, but worth a shot. As it turns out, it's very difficult to tell the difference between this one and the Canon one (I've used the Canon one, but didn't own one). Some nice details that weren't really clear in description: You can use one or two NB-2LH batteries, and they don't have to be equally-charged; and there's a full set of controls on the grip, not just a shutter release. It's a lot more useful than I'd expected, and the battery life is now absurdly long.
