Customer Review: Great Value on Nikon OEM grip & 3rd party batteries
Short story: It's an original Nikon MB-D80 and 2 Zeikos (3rd party) batteries. They work fine. Long story: Cameta auctions these on ebay and I bought a set from them for a similar price. I researched the cheaper non-nikon grips, etc, and read all the reviews of problems with non nikon batteries, etc. but decided to take the plunge for my D90. Got it, watched the youtube video on how to install it, and was up and running in 2 minutes. The grip shutter button is kinda flimsy compared to the camera button, but works just fine. No wobbling for me, and the ergonomics are way better for portrait/vertical shots (I wear a cadet medium golf glove if that helps with hand size comparison). Works great with my CB-Junior bracket as well... Its staying on!
Customer Review: Nikon MB-D80 works great, not batteries though.
I have purchased this product back in 2007. It was shipped by Cameta Camera which is a reliable camera company. The package contents included the Nikon Branded, USA Warrantied MB-D80, but unfortunately included generic brand En-EL3e compatible batteries. The MB-D80 works excellent. It thankfully fits the D80 perfectly. It doesn't awkwardly bulge or stick out like the grips on the Canon XT's. The MB-D80 has a designated slot to slip the D80 battery cover in, a metal tripod socket, shutter button, both control wheels, and a 6 Cell AA battery holder to slip into the MB-D80 when En-El3e('s) are not available. I shutter release on the MB-D80 is sensitive, but thankfully has a shutter switch lock, both just like on a D2x. The MB-D80 fits and looks as if it is permanent on the D80. Now onto the... batteries. Unfortunately, the batteries are both generic, which means they are not a perfect fit. The batteries seems a little small (1-2 millimeters smaller) and don't have a tighter fit like a Nikon brand En-EL3e. This means that the MB-D80 will loose connection to the generic En-EL3e battery and cut power. This becomes a frustration when shooting on the fly. I makeshifted by folding a 1" x1" piece of paper to fill in the left over space between the battery and compartment door. Also from my observation experience, when using any En-EL3e battery with the MB-D80, keep in mind that the D80, doesn't use both batteries at once, so the battery levels will deplete battery 1 first, then battery 2. I'd recommend that it may be wise to at least purchase Nikon brand batteries, since it will guarantee operation and compatibility.s

I purchased this kit for my new Olympus Evolt E-510. I found that I liked the size of this bag compared to the standard bag for this camera. There is plenty of room for all my gear. Its pretty durable. It has two sets of latches which tends to be a pain in you are in a hurry but I would much prefer to have them rather than have my camera fall out and get broken. I need all the safety I can get. I have not tried out the tripod as of yet but hope to soon. I would definately recommend this to anyone with a slr type camera.

I have had this a few weeks, I purchased it for its range as I am shooting a friends wedding next month. Thus far I have found its range a tremendous benefit for indoor group events.
Customer Review: It was fun until...
I got my lens last week and I had lots of fun with it, until I noticed the AF started getting buggy. After turning on for a few minutes it would work fine but then I noticed that when I was focused on something far and tried to focus on something closer, the AF would get jammed or something. I had to nudge the focus ring a little bit for my camera to take the picture. I'm sure switching it to manual focus would have worked, but I don't want to use that for the rest of my time with the lens. I tried it on my brother's D80, and still the same problem so I'm sure it wasn't my camera. I decided on returning the lens and I'm deciding on whether I should by the Nikkor 18-200 or the 18-135 and the 35mm f/1.8 af-s. I'm pretty sure I had a bad copy of the lens, but it's because of this I'm going to stick with Nikon lenses from now on. I know Sigma makes good lenses, but I switched from the Sigma 18-200, then went to the 18-250. I'm pretty sure I'm going to grab myself the Nikkor 18-200. Oh I'm an amateur photographer using a D40, and I liked the pictures that were produced. Not super sharp, but sharp enough. Another thing, the lens was pretty heavy. At first I liked the way my tiny little D40 was kinda heavy, but as I write this review, my right wrist is in pain. If you have a D40,D40x,D60, or even the D5000 and you have this lens, I would recommend getting a battery pack to go with it to even out the weight. I'm sure I would have kept this lens if I didn't have that problem, but now it's going to be Nikon lenses. Good luck to you if you plan on purchasing this lens. Hopefully you don't get a bad copy like me.

This is the first videocamera I've ever owned since my parents huge, clunky VHS camcorder. I've had the camera for a few weeks now and am very satisfied with it. I only gave it 4 stars because I've not yet tested all of the many features. High Defnition, writes directly to SD Memory Cards (No internal memory). Copying to computer is very fast. Takes excellent 8MP photos. I love the 24p + Cinema Mode. Its small, so you need a steady hand at times. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Customer Review: great tele lens for such moneyi just purchased this lens from 47th avenue seller. they shipped it fast and today i tried it. i have canon 300D. obviously you will need a tripod. there is no way you can shoot a still picture holding 5 pounds in your hands and w/manual focus. it works pretty well at 650mm. to reduce shakeness you might want to use a shutter remote(6$ on ebay). at 1300mm it is hard to focus because having 23" lens and camera weight on the other end makes it hard. 2x converter makes it even harder b/c of shakement. you really need perfect conditions to use 2x with the lens. i use some manual parameters as exposure or shutter speed. i was shooting towards the evening and got pretty decent shots. i mean you need to understand that even 650mm is a huge zoom. 1300mm is insane and it makes it hard. this lens is made for a very specific purpose. you will not be able to shoot sports or fast animals b/c it is to heavy and too slow. but it is great for the lanscapes. i did some great pics using 200 ISO. a lot of people write bad reviews before they even try this lens. all we knoe that canon or sigma lens 700mm would run around 7000$ or more and obviously you cannot compare opteka with those 30 times more expensive lenses. but some people do and come up with the most rediculous conclusions. this lens needs time to get good pics. at 650-800mm it is perfect. you might even do some animal shots. at 1300 forget about it. as i mentioned earlier it is big. focusing is easy, if you ever used a telescope it is the same idea. it is hard to focus at 1300mm or more. it might look ok but when you zoom in to the pic it looks a little blury. for 250$ it is a great toy. anyone who wants to buy it needs to understand that this lens for a very specific pics. the object needs to be at least 30 yards away. in conclusion, i guess it is worth the money. i cannot talk much about the quality b/c i just had it for a very little time. it look alright. and please ignore those stupid reviews on different web sites of people who comment about this lens without trying it!

Nice case and sturdy. My only problem with it is the dividers do not stay in the "slots" so they are useless. To be good enough for a camera equipment case, you will need to buy and cut your own foam as the pre-cut foam comes apart with just a little hard use. It is large enough for digital slr, 2 large lenses and 2 or 3 smaller lenses. Any extra equipment would need another container. SO, if I had it to do over again I might have considered something larger (perhaps a camera equipment backpack?). It comes with a shoulder strap but I only carry this case to the car and hotel roooms and was bought to protect equipment during car travel. I would not carry it around at someplace like Disney World, etc. and I did not buy it to walk around with all my equipment. If you were a professional, 2 or more of these would be great for protection traveling to weddings etc. and I should remark that the handles are nicely made and sturdy and the latches are typical but of the sturdy type. The would also make nice pistol or insturment cases.

Before I received it, I was very skeptical; quality! usability, value! All these questions were lingering in my mind. Then I received it. At first impression, I was elated! The build quality was not bad at all, it reminded me of Canon's big lenses, though much less fancy. What struck me as odd, was not the external zooming or focusing design rather than the short end of the zooming tube left to support the weight of the lens at ful zoom range. I could understand the designer's point of view from an engineering perspective, what I could not understand was that a 2" extra length in the internally moving tube beyond the maximum zooming range would have added enough stability to render the lens far superior than its cuurent pathetic configuration, yet nobody gave this thought a rat's tail end. It is made in China, yet the add stated that it was made in Japan. It appears that, though some chinese products are equal to the Japanese when under strict engineering and manufacturing tolerances, left to their own whims, they try to cut corners that cannot possibly be cut from an American end user's perspective, rendering the whole thing a fiasco. Fortunately, this is not a total fiasco, but I sure hope that somebody out there is reading these letters right now! Only 2" of extra aluminum tubing would do the job just fine. Another aspect, albeit, this time strictly esoteric; the lens is so bland! When you hold a German or a Japanese Lens, apart from the instantly evident signs of high quality, you will notice that it has had a lot of thought when the general looks were being considered. This one is lacking luster, which when added, would not really add any extra cost. Just placing some fancy tags and inscriptions with multi color zooming lines scheme would make a world of a difference to the appearence and the seeming quality. Again, I hope someone is reading these letters right now! Now to usability: If you think you could use this lens for anything other than mounted on extremely steady tripod for long to very long exposure shots, you will have wasted your time and money. This lens could only be practical for nature, some wild life, and landscape, where quick shots are not even part of your prepearation, much less your consideration. Quality wise, well, for the price and the market for which it is intended, it is a very good tool, all you need is a good knowledge of its capability and limitations, and a super heavy tripod as well as super majestic targets to shhot it with this lens. The rest is superflowous. Conclusion: You are not a pro, you have $300 to spare, you enjoy photography and are willing to go distances for good shots, and you are not thinking of selling your products to photo agencies! If these conditions meet you half way, buy the darn thing, it is the only lens out there capable of doing what a hunting rifle is capable ofPhotographic Lenses: Photographers Guide to Characteristics, Quality, Use and Design; bringing you the head of a trophy from a quarter mile away!

I"ve got 50 year's experience with good binoculars and wanted a knock-around, inexpensive pair that was waterproof, fit in my pocket like these clamshells, and had good optics (obviously). I've generally used Nikon and Bushnells, so I started with those. While these Nikons are light, and well designed, the optics are not good. The binoculars were out of alighment and gave me headaches. I finally decided on Vortex Typhoons - which are a GREAT binocular for the money. I was amazed at the quality of the Vortex over the Nikons and Bushnells.

I use this with a sony cyber shot camera when traveling. it comes with 110 or 220 charger and a 12v car charger adapter also. it charges quickly and has a light on it that goes out to let you know when it is done charging. the plug in the back of the charger folds internally to make it more portable. i have used mine from generator power in southern iraq to 110 in the phillipines and 220 in the balkins with no problem. i havnt had it on 12v yet though but im sure it will work very good also.
